About the Ride

Come and enjoy one of North Central Washington's favorite rides, it runs along the Columbia River from Wenatchee to Lake Chelan and return to Wenatchee. The 21st Annual Apple Century Ride is one of the premier cycling events in the Northwest, with outstanding scenery and rides of 50 or 100 miles


Course of Ride

Apple Century Bike Ride – Chelan Route Directions

From Walla Walla Point Park, head north on the Loop Trail through Confluence State Park until you reach Euclid Ave.  Head north on Euclid Ave until you reach U.S. Highway 2.  Take US Highway 2 East over the Odabashian Bridge and turn onto Highway 97 North, following the Columbia River on the east side until you reach the first pit stop at Daroga State Park. After your break, continue north on Highway 97 across the Bee Bee Bridge past Chelan Falls to the Chelan/Manson turn off at Highway 150.  Go West, up the Chelan grade, and through the City of Chelan to the second pit stop at the Lake Chelan High School (This will is approximately  40 miles from the start.) Continue through the City of Chelan until you reach Highway 97A.  Turn West onto Highway 97A until you reach South Lakeshore Drive/Highway 971.  Go West on South Lakeshore Drive/Highway 971 until you reach the turn around approximately 4.5 miles past the Navarre Coulee Road at Lake Chelan State Park.  Then head South on Navarre Coulee Road/Highway 971 until you again joins Highway 97A.  Proceed South on Highway 97A, following along the west side of the Columbia River, through the City of Entiat to the third pit stop (a water stop) then continue on towards Wenatchee.  Follow Highway 97A under the Highway 2 overpass where the Highway turns into Euclid Ave.  Continue south on Euclid Ave and into Confluence State Park where you will re-join the Loop Trail, crossing the Wenatchee River on the Pedestrian Bridge, and heading south, back to Walla Wall Pt. Park and your point of origin.

 

Special Note for 50 Mile Riders:

This year the ride will begin at Walla Walla Point Park, proceed north/west through Riverfront and Confluence Parks. After exiting Confluence Park, the riders will turn east on to the Odabashian Bridge bike path. The ride turns north at the intersection of Highway 2/97 and Sunset Highway and proceeds to the first pit stop located in the upper group campground of Daroga State Park. Riders who wish to only ride 50 miles will return to East Wenatchee along heading south along highway 2-97 until they reach the Odabashian Bridge bike path. They will continue west, over the bridge, and continue south through Confluence State Park along the bike path until reaching their point of beginning at Walla Walla Point Park.


Finish Line Festival

Enjoy a free relaxing meal at the Finish Line Festival with music and a no-host beer garden.


Ride Support

This is an open highway ride. Rotarian volunteers and Arlberg Sports mobile mechanics monitor routes. Mechanics will be on hand to make minor repairs (bring your checkbook). Please have your bikes tuned up beforehand.

Details

Late Registration -- Late registrations will be taken on June 6th begining from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on the morning of the ride beginning at 6:00 a.m.

Race Day Start Time -- The official start time is 8:00 AM on race day.  Riders may leave earlier but pit stops and SAG wagon support may not be available until after 8:00 AM.

Safety First -- All riders must wear an ANSI or Snell-approved helment. please remember to obey all traffic laws.
