The purpose of the Loop Trail Adventure is to provide a more casual, family type outing for those riders less experienced and not looking for the rigors of a more challenging 50-100 mile ride. The route utilizes the 11 mile paved trek of Wenatchee's Apple Capital Loop Trail and Riverfront Park System which meanders along both sides of the Columbia River through Wenatchee and East Wenatchee.
This ride features the history, environment, arts, and fitness activities of the trail; highlighting such things as the Arts on the Avenue Sculpture Garden, the Wenatchee Riverfront Railroad, Confluence Wetlands & Wildlife Habitat, Xeriscape Gardens, and the "pedestrian" bridge. Built in 1908, the "pedestrian bridge was the first bridge to carry a state highway across the Columbia. At first privately owned, it carried state Highway 2, the Sunset Highway and was used by autos, wagons, and pedestrians (no railroad). It also had two irrigration pipelines on its sides.
Today it still carries water from Wenatchee to East Wenatchee, and is used as the southern crossing of the Apple Capital Loop Trail.
